2006 was the year when it all started…

Having worked with IBM in the space of Diversity and Culture building, Nirmala Menon sensed the latent need in organisations to work with diversity of talent, geography and markets. At this point in time, most organisations were considering programs from the West, which were often disconnected with the local workforce. Messages of inclusion were getting lost in the cross-cultural divide.

Certain that there was a better way, Nirmala launched Interweave with the basic premise that D&I solutions cannot work in isolation as plug-in and plug-out interventions but must be carefully and continuously “interwoven” into the entire fabric of the organisation’s culture. This meant that solutions will have to be innovatively and meaningfully designed to address the day-to-day and practical concerns of managers who are steering an incredibly diverse workforce.

Interweave is the professional diversity consulting organization that introduced corporate India to the opportunities of diversity and created a space and value for D&I discussions. From a base of a couple of offerings as Interweave began, it is today, a one stop shop with a suite of offerings – including audits, interactive workshops, innovative e-learning modules and customised consulting solutions.

From helping several organizations as they took their first steps in their D&I journeys in India, Interweave has continued to partner with them to build higher order solutions to enable inclusive organizations.
